Need help with a chasm

Hello, several days ago I posted a map based on the DnD faerun region.
The geography of the map is almost finished, but I want to add a large chasm and I need help drawing it since my experience with drawing is limited to nonexistent.
If someone can suggest a nice way to draw chasms I would be grateful.

The chasm is supposed to run from the large western bay towards the sea in the middle of the map, it has not occurred naturally so geography is not a problem.

Software used: GIMP without a drawing tablet.

Thank you in advance for your help, and any other suggestion as to how to improve the map is welcome!

Nice! especially like the Greylandia one (and the whole map) will try it as soon as possible.
