    Default The Apple is Here

Hello members of the Cartographer's Guild!
I'm Applejack, call me Apple or Jelly if you want.

I'm not fond of revealing to much about myself.
But, here we go: 16 years old, live in the Netherlands and I go to school.
(It'd be called high school in the USA). Though it's holiday now, yeahh.

I joined because I want to (show) my map/world.
After half a year I finally finished my 6 by 6 A4 map yesterday.
I'm now here to interact with other worldbuilders, and of course,
    get feedback.
The books, which I plan on writing soon, (8 in total) partly take place on the map I created.
And I need tips for that of course, lol.

    Anyway, Hello comrades.

    Apple,

Hi Apple, welcome to the Guild!

If your map is completely finished, head over to the Finished Maps thread and post it there. If you'd like some feedback on possible ways to improve it, post it in Regional/World mapping (I'm assuming it's a map of a large area?) Have a scan through the forums as there are some discussions threads about world building too, but if you have a specific question that you don't see answered, go ahead and start your own thread.

Look forward to seeing what you've got.

    Thanks for your reply!

It may sound weird, but I'm quite protective of my map...
But I think I'm gonna post it anyway.
    Yeah It's a big map, It's a large continent.
I sometimes feel like I overdid it though.

I'm getting my map, gonna count all the stuff I wrote on it.

    See you soon.

It's not weird to feel protective of something you've worked on for a while, and it takes courage to put it out there for public view the first time. However, the guild is a friendly place and people genuinely want to help, so go ahead and post it and ask for feedback. Good luck!

Hi Apple! Welcome to The Cartographers' Guild!

I may say that you've found out the good place to show your map, just because we all love maps here!

Also, your presentation reminds me a lot when I was 16 too, back in 1987. As you have done already, I hand-drew a large 7x6 A4 map and I used to be "protective" of it. Just think: I had locked it in a drawer for a lot of years. Finally I found out the Guild and decided to have my old map re-born.

    Thx!

Haha, wauw, what an amazing coincidence.
Nice to know someone who went through the same process.

I think I'll show it on the guild tomorrow, still busy with the names /:

17 here, and, here's the thing. I've been making maps on multiple joined pieces of a3 and 4 as my first proper map attempts. Maybe it's something lots of people do at this age

Ikr, it's probably cuz most of us don't use software for mapping.
