    Post Hello from Texas!

The name's Nate, and I've been playing D&D for a few years, and just started thinking about making some maps for a campaign idea. I've made a few things, but nothing very fancy-looking.

I prefer using GIMP, but I would like to try out Photoshop. I've tried some of the tutorials for atlas-style maps here, but I'm always thinking I missed a step, so I've never been able to complete one.

Anyways, I hope that I can get plenty of ideas here, and hope everyone gives me good critiques on my maps, should I post them.

Hello Nate! Welcome to the Guild!

The Atlas style is actually a fairly difficult one to start with. If you are trying to learn Photoshop at the same time, I suggest you try something simpler first.

There is a great tutorial you could try just for practice:
Hand Drawn Mapping for the Artistically Challenged: http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ad.php?t=10655

Have fun and I'll look forward to seeing your first map post!
