New mapper looking for assistance making a map look nice

I have an idea for a continent i am basing a campaign around, but my map making skills are...simply put, bad. I can describe it, and have several basic attempts at this but it just doesn't look so good. It has a large mountain chain running down the middle, with a few islands around. Patches of forest, a couple small lakes and rivers around, a volcano on an island, and a large swamp in the south. Ill attach a picture, although understand i know its a real rough image so far. Is there anyone who might wanna help me tweak this into a nice map? I know i might be off in the realism of the rivers and such and am very open to adjustments.

Hi Izaegraa, and welcome! Your best bet is to check out the Tutorials section. There are many different styles that are tutorialized, so you are likely to find a style you like. Most are really easy to follow, and you'll be learning a lot in the meantime. Happy mapping!
