I was happy to be part of that ME experience.
I still think this one looks good Abu.
Almost a year ago, i somewhat abandoned this map in it's unfinished state. It was my first bigger map-project, inspired by the idea of some fellow Guild members, to warm up the good old Tolkien stuff and create some Middle Earth maps. During the process i learned a ton of new things and had a lot of fun due to the constant feedback and comments by many Guilders. Except for some forests which i added the last days, the whole linework was made roughly a year ago by mouse. Many things i'd do different now, but it feels great to finally call this piece finished. I hope you enjoy it!
Cheers,
AL

A fine map, Abu!
Nice work... I really like the attention to rivers
Although it's not as accomplished as you latest pieces, the shadows are masterfully executed and show promises. Great one !
Many thanks John! Yes, it was a great experience indeed. As written, i learned so much from making it. You can't believe how much in awe i've been (and still am!) seeing all the outstanding works springing off of the idea inspired by Sarithus' Udûn map. Max' Shire map, Sapiento's take on Rohan and Númenor and last but not least your wonderful series of "semi-canonical" regional ME maps.
Thanks a lot Sapiento, greatly appreciated!
Thank you zorilya! I forgot to mention in the first post, this map was based on the wonderful Merp maps of Pete Fenlon. He fleshed the whole geographical details out, and i (loosely) oriented myself on them.
Thank you Thomas, well i learned a thing or two in the meantime I'm still somewhat proud of the mountains on this map. The shading was all made with the "smudge tool" in gimp (and by mouse as written above). I seem to had a (long...) run back then to make them all appear somewhat coherent. I still remember the pain in my hand afterwards!
I loved seeing this map develop and it's great to see it finally finished. It's pretty amazing that you did this with a mouse! I love the colour palette and the border, and swan compass is fantastic. Everything just works together beautifully. Well done!
