    Map Númenor

Being a very big Tolkien fan I quickly sketched up the Island of Númenor (Númenórë, Westernesse).

    Numenor.jpg

I drew the map by pencil, and scanned it in and labelled it on PS. The total time was probably about 1 hour and a half to 2 hours. The other map I'm working on is progressing, albeit very slowly because school is consuming most of my time.

Any comments or critiques are welcome!

    A nice sketch indeed!

The line work all-round is nice and neat where it needs to be too. Your handwriting is very neat though some.variation in the labels would be nice, such as capitals for the major places or smaller for the rivers, but that's no biggy. I like how you basically used the island as the compass rose too.

One tiny thing it would be good to see if a bit of detailing just on the open plains, but again that's only something small.

All in all, good work Matthew!

Nice ! Worth having a good search on here for more Numenor's as its been done a few times. We didnt cover it in MeDem tho as it was too far over in the west.

Actually it's not my handwriting It's just a font, although I did try to make it look as much like real handwriting as I could, so it would fit in better with sketchy style of the map

Nice work, Matthew! I agree with GLS that a little more detail in the emptier areas would have been good, but sometimes 'less is more' works well too. I think a slightly more decorative title would have looked nice, so maybe that's something to consider for future maps. But overall, great job. I'll never get tired of Tolkien maps!

Haha, I did think it was a little too neat, but wasn't entirely sure how much you labelled by Photoshop.
