Map creation help

My spouse is a geography nerd and has been creating a map to go along with an imaginary country he's created to go along with a text based online game he plays. I was wondering if anyone had any advice of how I can take this from his notebook to a poster/wall hanging of the map for him. I wanted to do this for his birthday, but that's coming up quickly, so i am hoping I can for Xmas. It's relatively detailed with a large number of cities, lakes, rivers, mountains, etc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
