Thread: First battlemap

    Default First battlemap

This is the first battle map I've made in gimp with some of what I learned for tutorials. A tomb, with 8 sarcophagi in the main room and one in the room separated by some iron bars. The rooms on the sides also contain remains, on shelves carved out of the wall. It's pretty simple, I haven't learned how to really 'draw' so the sarcophagi are pretty plain.

I think my biggest complaint is the texture. I would recommend making the linework darker, and possibly also using a more visually distinct color palette, so the shapes are easier to distinguish. That being said, the color choices are nice, they do bring a good sense of being drawn on parchment.

Thanks for the input- I can take down the opacity on the texture layers to make it a bit neater for sure. I'm also onboard with the color pallet- I was having a hard time getting a soft grey for the stone sarcophagi. I'm done with this in my campaign, but I think I'll rework it when I get a chance as an exercise.
