Thread: April 2017 Challenge: The Silver Gates & Lock Island

Default April 2017 Challenge: The Silver Gates & Lock Island

OK... I didn't had the time for the last one. And I still don't have it, but who cares ?

So, I really don't know if I'm gonna be able to finish this one. Please don't expect much of it , since I'm currently working on 4 maps (including 2 cities) and I'll have some other one to do next week.

The idea is a map of the strategic region of the Silver Gates, a kind double pass in the like of Bosphorus or Gibraltar. I'll do the inset map centered on "Lock Island", with a style close to my Verdugo map, I think.

Right now, I'm testing a way to do some shaded relief map with krita and my tablet. Here's the start of the big map.

I'm trying to think of a more useful comment than just 'That is so cool'.
I love the detailed coastline, and I love topography on maps in general.
What size file do you work with?

This is going to be another great piece Ilanthar! I really like the coastlines and shaded relief.

    At the same size.

A test about the inset map. It's just the combination of the different Wilbur textures and some corrections.
