Default August 2018 Challenge: Budapest - A City Triptychon

Quite late, maybe even a bit too late, i made my decision to join this challenge. As to be expected, my entry will be a town drawing, showing the city of Budapest during three epoques of its existence - the late middle ages, the ottoman time and the 19th century. Each of those will be represented by a quarter of the town, so in the end the map will show a stretch of the town from castle quarter (várnegyed) to the Leopold town (Lipótváros) on the right bank of the river danube, and all that hopefully before the end of the month.

The project is quite ambitious, the map will have a total size of 75x40cm, and the style will be about the same as on the Eguisheim map.

Since the following image shows barely anything, it‘ll not be marked as a WIP:

I finished a first very rough plan of the city:

    The ottoman part:

    And the 19th century part:

Let’s start with the chain bridge:

    Thanks aeshnidae!

Progress has been incredibly slow the last days, but i still think that i can make it. However, those 19th century buildings on the tiny scale are extremely time-consuming.

Another quick update, still not worth a WIP tag imo. It‘ll come when i get the impression that i can finish it in time:

    You mad?! O_O

Seriously though, the amount of detail here is breathtaking.

How are you able to draw this amount of details on such a small scale? That's really impressive.
