Hehe, that's really fun to see, and probably a good exercise to practise (but... maybe not at work... ^^') !
This is definitely in the more lighthearted category.
Some of you may have noticed I recently started a thread for experimentation with partly spherical maps (an orthographic projection to be ridiculously precise), called Bréistyn's Folly. Well, with that in the back of my mind I yesterday sat through a meeting of epically sleep-inducing proportions. In order to stay alert, I started doodling (that always helps for some reason!) and all of a sudden I had a map, curved horizon included, staring up at me.
It's a bit of a silly map, but I rather like its style, AND the fact that it took me a fraction of the normal time. I even had the time to photograph it with my phone, look for an app to color it (I found Autodesk Sketchbook), and color the beast before the meeting was over!
Style is different from what I usually do, but why stick with what you have if you can doodle!

That's a really pretty map, Caenwyr! I like the cartoonish style and colour-scheme. It would make a great bookmark website banner or bookmark, I think

That's really cool! And don't listen to Beee, it's perfectly acceptable to doodle in boring meetings...
That is pretty epic and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one venturing into the great Boredom
This is a fun and attractive map - nicely done!
Thanks people! Glad you like it! I had fun creating it, AND I got to keep my mind awake. Two birds with one stone, right?
