Hello From A Long Time Gone!

Hi everyone!

Jeez it's been so long that I feel I should introduce myself again. Last year I finally was able to have surgeries to fix the Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (it's a rare sort of pinched nerve) and Carpal Tunnel that together made it pretty near impossible for me to do any drawing for a few years. The last map I posted here, I could only work on for about 5 minutes at a time because of the numbness and pain.

After a quite long recovery process (not to mention a house move, a crazy job, and two puppies taking up all my time) I can feel my hand again and it doesn't hurt to hold a pen anymore!

So I'd love to hang out here again. I'm very glad to see all the new faces and bustling activity, and a map came onto my facebook feed today that was simply GORGEOUS! It inspired me to pick up the pens that have been gathering dust, and to poke in here and see how everyone is.

Welcome back!! Glad to hear that you're able to hold that pen again, and yay for puppies. Make sure you have lots of chew toys!!!

Thanks GW! I have sort of a toy-buying problem; they have a ton. My biggest problem is that their favorite chew toys are *each other*! I thought I'd spaced em out far enough (they're almost exactly a year apart at 6 & 18 months) but apparently not.

Welcome back! I think you'd disappeared long before i joined the site, but I tried out your tutorial back in the day and it was great. It's still super popular today, so thanks for the work you put into it.

Edit: Nope, I faded out a few years before that. Wow, I can't believe that last map was in 2012 >.< I think I remember you from when I ducked in to say I was still alive but not able to be too active.

Oh my. Well chewing on each other is better than chewing on you...sometimes. I guess so long as the chewing doesn't become chomping you and they will survive.

Cuddle to the puppies ! (I recommend filled kong toys : almost indestructible, and keep doggies occupied for a while when you're mapping ! )
