Default Yerindor - Plate Tectonic WIP

Still a work in progress after putting the project on the back-burner.
The mistake of creating a map, and a storyline, without relying on plate tectonics all the way. Here Yerindor has 44 plates total, Earth has 52 plates, most of them being minor plates.

Red boundaries are yet undefined. Green is divergent, purple is convergent, and yellow is transitional.

Naima, your advice has helped a lot. It has indeed reshaped the way I see my world. thank you.

I am still open to as much help, critiques, and knowledge as I can get. Thank you!

    You are welcome .
I think u can reduce their numbers a lot... not each or geographic shape needs to be on a plaque, I think that the good way now is to simplify it and arrange clusters and put them on some major plaques...you can add eventually microplates after.

    Definitely Naima,
I adjusted the plate boundaries, got rid of some. Still in progress though. Been studying deep into plate tectonics to make it as accurate as I can.

Seems to me that there could be an opportunity for a big oceanic dorsal in those places.

From what I observed, There are usally many micro-plates in collision zones such as Indonesia or the Mediterranean. Here you still have a lot of plates but they look ok I think.

I definitely made amendments to add dorsal ridges, actually made the other plates easier to layout. Focus was on the major plates, but I did add some minor, and even a few micro plates. I realize the coloration of the transitional zones of my mid ocean ridges will need changing.

And that is true Jean-Abdel, there definitely is many plates, I cleaned a lot up since the previous map. And Naima many thanks again. I have two maps. Simplistic, and color-coded.

    ️Red = Undefined Boundary
    ️Green = Divergent Boundary
    ️Purple = Subduction/Collision Boundary
    ️Yellow = Transitional Boundary
    ️Orange Triangle = Continental Plate
    ️Blue Triangle = Oceanic PlateYerindor Tectonic Map.jpeg

Still is not convincing me that middle oceanic plate between the two large continents on North East, unless you want to put a big mountain range on all the NorthEastern continent west side all along those islands in the style of Andes.

Yes, that is going to be like the Andes/Southern Chile, or a heavily uplifted volcanic arc like Japan.

Oh and for the plates' movements you can use gplates to see how everything goes on a sphere.

Updated version of the elevation map. And a detailed look at the main continent of Vaaltmora. Currently also developing an open-world game based off this, and later on with novels. Still a work in progress for sure. Let me know what you guys think.
