Default February 2019 Challenge: a region of Parlora

I teamed up with Brian, aka Blaidd Drwg, who sent me pictures of his living room with the assignment to interpret what I see in it as natural features and make a map from that, naming and labeling at least three things.

I made a few sketches to lay it out...

Then painted it loosely based on those with acrylics on canvas, 14x18 inches. I'll upload that in a second post so it doesn't confuse the thumbnail scraper. The painted region depicts lands and locations/settlements in some part of Parlora, though the cartographer, being from Maine, finds it more natural to pronounce that title as Parloa

Very nice. I love those sketches.
Brian has a very dramatic living room map now.
It turned out well, particularly the hand painted lettering.
I always love seeing your terrains.

Thanks, J the lettering went a bit easier than expected once I found some colored pencils to lay them out.

    That's a funny idea for a map.
I really like your work with acrylics - the colors are beautiful and I'm very impressed by your hand painted lettering.

Looks spectacular, and I love so much the whole concept of the map ! Now I just want to map my office... The Books Cliff, the Cables Waterfall, the College of Technomagic sit on the giant Three-Wooden-Plateau, the Forest-of-the-Lost-Books, the Land-of-a-Thousand colors where lives red sable weasels...?
