I don't normally post "works in progress," but I think the map portion of this project it pretty much finished. I have a story to tell about the founding families of the city and how the noble houses were first established. I plan to attach that story as a separate page to the bottom of the map.

That's an impressive iso view ! Do you plan on adding texture or color to the buildings ? that's a huge undertaking anyways.

If this is the result of a LIGHT challenge for you then I don't know what your game at a not so light challenge will be.

Thanks for the great feedback everyone!

RE: ThomasR: I started adding color to some of the buildings with sloped roofs to indicate clay tile shingles, but I didn't like how the colors detracted from the monuments that didn't have tiled roofs. Maybe if all the sloped roofs had very mild colors applied, the un-tiled monuments would stand out more. Otherwise it think the paper texture is plenty of texture for this pic. Thanks to your feedback, I might try posting a version of the pic with colored roofs to see if you guys like it. Thanks!

It took me a while to find a viable color balance between all the orange, brown, and beige map elements, but now that I have most of the roofs colored in, I definitely think it's an improvement:

Of course I noticed a typo on one of my deity names as shortly after I posted it.

The color on the roofs really makes this stand out as a great map.
