Default Nov-Dec 2019 Challenge : Naatietl' Itza, where the Fire dreams

    Hey folks,

Dunno if I'll have the time to make it in time (as I've not started it yet) but I did not want to pass this one.

I'll map an archipelago of my unfinished GuildWorld map. Here it is :

    Base.jpg-----01.jpg

I'll hand drawn the map in pencil and color it with watercolors (it means minimal colors as I'm not really comfortable with it yet). Also, the map will only appear as pictures taken with my camera, my scanner being too small for the paper (or the other way around).

Interesting choice to pick just a small part of your guildworld section.
Not much time left, Good luck !

Yes, get on in this challenge
I'm trying to mess with some Nahadua stuff today, just to be part of the challenge fun.

Thanks Rafal Time is scarce, I'll try and keep it simple.

Hehe, aren't we all pretty trying to fit 35 hours in one day Yeah, it's just for the sake of taking part (and practicing a little bit too).

Here's a first update with layout, a simple compass rose and the coastlines, coastal details and waves. Next stop, mountains or parchment border or both

Nice idea to do this the old-fashioned way. Love what you have so far.

Thanks Kell And a little bit more with the border and parchment. As the whole country is Meso-American themed, I've gotta do some research for the name (fire and sleep with a twist) and frieze.

And for a finished linework. The frieze is a placeholder that I'll try to do better with paint (or diluted ink ?) and the title is final but will appear differently as I'll paint it last (after erasing the pencil to keep just a guide).

Now, it's masking fluid and parchment painting. The complementary color for the ornaments will be green except for the compass rose which will be golden. Hope my brush work is not too sloppy this time

I think this looks pretty cool just as it is so far. Can only imagine a little color will make it look even cooler. Nicely done so far.

Thanks GW, you can judge below It's the final version. Still room for improvement but I'm mostly satisfied of it, at least, I feel I'm ready to use better quality paper
    Sorry, it's just a camera picture ...

Still looking good, but I might add just a touch of blue to the bay and maybe ease back a little on the blue of the rivers. But that's just me being a little nitpicky. Still some quality work.
