That looks great... it came out really well. clean and crisp and readable .. nice subtle texture too.
Can QGIS be used for imaginary places? it looks like it is real world geography only?
Recently I've started to learn a bit more about map making on QGIS and once I got some basics it turned out to be quite a lot of fun.
There's basically no lore, it's more of seeing the capabilities I can get with QGIS for general mapmaking; now I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't actually make fantasy maps at least partially with it.
Unfortunately, labeling is relatively limited so the labels were added later in Illustrator - I wonder if there is any sort of plugin that could handle this.

Maps are great! Very professional looking results. Personally I prefer to just label in a program I'm comfortable with, so I'd just keep using Illustrator or similar since it's more powerful for typography. I use Affinity Designer for most of my text, separate to the programs I draw in now.
You can make fictional maps with it, however, the map Batat made is using datasets from ESRI for the terrain by the look of it, that effect isn't generated in a way that would be applicable to a fictional map. You'd need to find another technique to mimic the topographical effect if you didn't want identifiable terrain from an earth region.

Great maps and setting!
Another inspiration to start up QGIS. I have been thinking about it for quite a while in regard to my homebrew world... the attribute data & layers are quite a strength. These have turned out really well though!
