Hi everybody,

I have been reading "Un día de cólera", from Arturo Pérez Reverte and this book relates multiple stories from May 2nd of 1808, when the people of Madrid took conscience of the French Napoleonic invasion of Spain and rebelled, initiating what we call the Independence War (from France, because they had invaded... Yeah, I don't think the name of the war makes much sense either). With the book comes a HUGE map of Madrid in 1808, and helps give some spatial and tactical context for the stories of the book.

That map has inspired me a bit, because, while it's from the period I like to draw fortifications from, it's also a non fortified city, with no street planning.

So, when I saw the shape, I thought: "Hey, this could be such a city...".

So I've printed the shape and taken pen and ruler, and now I'm painting what will be the city of Rudik (Thanks to perchance.org for the word generator).
I may develop the lore a bit on future posts, but I can't promise it.

Here are some streets drawn. It will be whatever gets out.
